“Aaron Rapf has the background both personally and professionally to make a great Lake Oswego city councilor. His can-do attitude, his collaborative, focused and strategic approach is exactly what is needed for us to go forward as a community.”
– Chris Rigney, Lake Oswego School District Budget Committee Member
PREPARED FOR A CHANGING WORLD
Aaron Rapf was raised and educated in Oregon and the Rapfs are a proud Lake Oswego School District family. Taylor and Chase attend Westridge Elementary School and Aaron coaches local youth sports. On council, he looks forward to working with the LO school district to promote the strength of our neighborhood schools.
A collegiate tennis player, Aaron earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies at Willamette University. He subsequently earned his Master of Business Administration (Brand Marketing and Statistical Analysis) also at Willamette University. He now is a marketing executive at a multinational Fortune 500 corporation where he knows what it means to serve consumers with integrity, authenticity and creativity – assets needed in a city councilor serving the consumers of Lake Oswego.
BALANCE
His passion for Lake Oswego and a commitment to helping take a re-charged, robust LO community forward is behind Aaron’s decision to run for a seat on city council. He serves on the City of Lake Oswego Budget Committee where he provides strategic counsel and recommendations for any needed budget modifications and reviews and approves the city budget. He is on the Board of Directors of the nonprofit Willowbrook Arts Camp. Willowbrook encourages kids to develop their creative and imaginative potential through art and nature. In his professional life Aaron has over ten years’ experience in managing large multiple budgets and is no stranger to the obligation to use funds wisely in both the private and public sector and not continually ask for more.
From his father who formerly owned a construction business, Aaron learned the art of building and fixing. His entrepreneurial spirit is evident in part time modeling jobs where he jokingly quips that there’s a lot of work for those with grey hair. He plays guitar, surfs and reads historical nonfiction books. Married for fourteen years to Brooke, Aaron and his two children ski, bike and together enjoy energetic outdoor activities.
FORESIGHT
A strong team player with an ability to bring differing views to the table, Aaron looks forward to helping lead Lake Oswego through today’s challenges and to working with all in the community towards a robust and stable post COVID environment.
“Aaron’s inclusive, all-ideas-should-be-heard approach is exactly what Lake Oswego needs. He’s all about ‘we’ and ‘us’ and not one political party philosophy. This community and its concerns and priorities will always be front and center with him”
– Dr. Ian Tydeman, Lake Oswego Dentist
